Age-standardised disability-adjusted life year...

Well, I found out again, that I am not invincible! I committed to blogging at least once a week and I have let myself down. But, I do have an excuse.

First, I had a Lupus flare.  Still not sure what defines as a Lupus “flare”.  That is still out to debate.  I just know what happens to me. Swollen feet and ankles with slight pain. Pain and stiffness in all my joints. More than usual. I wake up daily with the stiffness. Thank You Mr. RA!  When you are in pain it cause depression. More so in some than others. When I get this way, I don’t want to do much of anything, but sleep.  Lupies need lots of sleep. One of the symptoms of Lupus is chronic fatigue.  Most of my friends and family understand this, but it sure does interfere with my blogging and networking.

So today is a New Day and a good day for a New Beginning. Weekly blogging starts today. Yeah! I do have some good stuff to post. I believe that others deserve my views and reviews. Especially when it comes with dealing with Lupus. I am a survivor. I could have died in 2003. I had gangrene with my first flare. When Lupus raised its ugly head. I was diagnosed with Lupus, Reynaud’s Disease, Vasculitis, and RA. Well that’s enough, isn’t it. 🙂  It took the doctors 5 days to diagnose me. I thank God everyday for the University of Virginia Medical Hospital. I checked in with gangrene already in progress. It affected my two pointer fingers and the first and fourth digits on my left foot. Talking about Pain. Like no other I’ve ever experienced before. Nothing can describe it other than a “burning” feeling. They told me that the toes and fingers would just “Fall Off”. Can you imagine? Having to sit and watch your fingers and toes just rot away? The doctors told me that they could just cut them off, but that would not get rid of ALL the pain. Have you ever heard of phantom pain? It’s so real. It’s been 8 years now and I still have them. I still even try to pick up something with the assist of the pointer finger and it just don’t work like it use to.

Well that is just a brief look inside of my disease and what I have gone through. My goal is to help others who have Lupus or other diseases with my experiences and knowledge.

Now, back to the Yoga!  I haven’t been doing my exercises like I should these last couple of weeks. But today is the beginning of a New week. My overall Goal,  in this area, is to do my Yoga at least 2x a week. It’s in writing; It’s posted on my bulletin board. Soon to be copied and placed around the house.
